Starting therapy can feel intimidating - especially if you're used to managing everything on your own. Whether someone is facing anxiety, recovering from complex trauma, moving through a life transition, or navigating challenges unique to them, Melissa offers a grounded, compassionate, and welcoming space where healing feels possible.

Her approach is rooted in EMDR, attachment theory, and IFS (Internal Family Systems). Melissa takes a holistic view of mental health, meaning she looks beyond symptoms to understand the emotional patterns, life experiences, and programmed responses that shape how her clients feel about and relate to the world. Melissa believes healing happens when her clients feel safe and met with empathy instead of judgment.

In her work, clients set the pace. Melissa meets them where they are, whether they’re looking for coping strategies, relief, or deep healing. Her role is to support clients in reconnecting with their strengths, clarity, and capacity to move forward.

For Melissa, therapy isn’t about “fixing” anyone — it’s about creating space to feel seen, heard, and empowered in their own life.

Melissa received her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Prior to working in mental health, Melissa helped women through stage of life transitions, worked as a psychedelic plant medicine integration guide, and served as law enforcement.

In her free time, you can find Melissa working out, reading, or spending time with her husband and teenage son exploring Chicago.
